Perhaps you’ve heard about the oil spill in Arkansas?

The one that Exxon doesn’t really have to pay for?

The one that looks like this?

It’s with this spill in mind that we should consider the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, which is wildly popular because people think it will create jobs. It will create jobs: 35 of them. Yes, we’re considering building a giant pipeline across the United States that could produce spills that make what’s happening in Arkansas look like a puddle… for 35 whole permanent jobs.

Why? Because big oil has the kind of money to sell the world anything, even a climate catastrophe.
